So if you have been around since my blog started I always do a post on my birthday. 

This year there is no exception, even though I am like 2 months late. We are still going to dive into it. 

Honestly, this year was more low-key. I didn't want a "party" or anything big. I feel like I am happy when it is just family and a cake. 

I wanted to share how my family decorated for my party and what I received. 

(Cue a very sappy paragraph at the end.)

My Decorations: 

Oii! I love them, My sister defined my decor as Cloud 9 inspired. 

I kept all of my decorations. The clouds, stars and giraffe were handmade!

In the beginning of October I decided to do a small bucket list for this season. I did this to challenge myself to go out more and try new things. So far I have accomplished plenty, which means I want to share pictures and my real thoughts on each new experience.

Baking a Pumpkin Pie 
I didn't do it from scratch as you can see, but I had never baked one before.
Baking is always fun, it's just that pies take a-lot longer to bake so the process can get a tad boring, especially if you are impatient.






I am 21 and I had never carved a pumpkin.
I want this to become a tradition.
Tip: Dry the inside of your pumpkin when you are done carving it.
Don't let it get wet or else it will mold faster.


I am so happy how mommy's cake turned out. Yes, I baked it myself.

Today I am talking about how I felt when my sister packed her apartment up and moved 2.5 hours away from me.

I was asked about this early in June, but I couldn't really tell what I was feeling. I wanted to give it time. Make sure how I felt. So here it is...

It was hard. 

The night before I was going to go help her move, I cried.
Thinking about not having my sister 8 minutes away from me, broke my heart.

My sister and I have always been close. When she got married and moved out, I went through a stage where I didn't want to hang out with her. Simply because I didn't want to miss her. We spent 19 years living across from each other. I got so use to walking into her room at night and just sitting with her. I got so use to having her 10 steps away. When she moved out, I try to process it the best that I could, but it was hard. When I found out she was moving to Austin I didn't really think it was going to happen. Until the night before, when we were going over to help her move out.

Don't get me wrong.
I have always been happy and supportive towards my sister and brother-in-law.
I couldn't be happier that their relationship is so strong and that they support each other mutually.

But I was still sad that I was going to be so far away from her. Even when she would text me about being scared that she was living so far away, I would encourage her to learn to love her new place, that everything was okay and not to think about the distance. And while I would tell her that. I was trying to tell myself the same thing.

When someone you love so much moves away, it will hurt and it will be hard and you would have to put a brave face and support them. Even if it is breaking you inside to watch them go. It will not get easier, but you will get use to it. There is times where I want to just go over to my sister's and just hang out, but at times I can't. (I mean she lives 2.5 hours away).

My sister and I still have a close relationship. I think living far away from each other is better, because when we see each other we really do cherish the time we have together and we don't fight as often over text. (Haha!)

I am happy and proud of her.
I feel like I will always be, growing up I looked up to her on everything and she's a great example.
I love you J.

(PS: I also got Converse and a laptop case from my dad but that was given to me two weeks after.)

I'm extremely thankful for everything I got. I am so blessed, so lucky and so happy... not going to get corny because I give a whole paragraph in my last blog post. 

But yeah, these where my gifts. Maybe this helps someone when it comes to what they want to ask for their birthday/holiday or just if you are a bit curious.

Saturday: July 29th 2017

On my birthday, my family woke me up with the birthday song and jumping on top of me. Afterwards we went to eat at a little bakery, where I ordered PANCAKES! and got a free cookie! and they sang happy birthday to me... it was just a little embarrassing, but the waitress was so sweet!

Then we went to run a small errand for my father that took a bit longer that it had to. During this errand was happening my brother-in-law was pulling my pinky back in place since I dislocated it the day before... (story-time perhaps?) After we finished the errand we decided to head over to the contemporary museum to check out their current exhibitions. 

The promise I picked up was, "I promise to trust my instincts."

Are those the marshmallows from the Lucky Charm cereal?

I saw this and thought "aw that's cool." but my brother-in-law pointed out the message on the art. It's a little hard to read and it took a while, but we read it. Can you read it?

I wanted this but it was $32 dollars so I took a picture so I can DIY it... I love the message and yes I am cheap!
