Not Click-bait. I Promise.
Hello beautiful bebes and welcome to another blog post.
By the title you probably already know what this is about, if you don't like reading about these topics click the X button, if you do hopefully you can understand where I am coming from and possibly help you if you feel the same way.
I never thought Anxiety was something that I struggled with. I mean we all get nervous/worried on occasions, like going to the dentist or taking a test, which is completely normal right?
Yet late last year I began to realize my anxiousness went beyond those little normal things.
Talking about this still sound weird to me, because I feel like everyone goes through these things and I don't want to sound dramatic or like I am overreacting. This is why I am writing about it, in case you have advice to give me or if you feel the same way let me know so I don't feel like I am crazy.
I am a person that requires planning and looking-ahead. I live day-by-day, but if I know I am taking a trip or going somewhere new for the very first time. I mentally have to prepare myself for when that day comes. If I simply go with the flow, my mind goes crazy. It starts to panic and worry and makes all these random "worst that can happen" scenarios. This happens with anything I am unfamiliar with, anything that makes me uncomfortable or anything new. My mind starts to overthink and worry and I honestly feel like there's a big battle going on in my head, one that I can't shut up.
This interferes with my day. I am so busy worrying about this thing and next you know I have spend all day thinking and worrying about it that I don't enjoy my day.
Sometimes it even happens with people. I could be talking to someone and out-of-nowhere! I start feeling anxious, my stomach starts to hurt and this light in my mind goes off saying "GET OUT OF HERE!"
Here are a couple of things I do when I feel my anxiety coming on. Perhaps they can help you:
1. Music. Play a song that makes you comfortable. If it helps, sing along to it. Get your mind off what is making you feel anxious.
2. Breathe. Slowly.
3. Get out of the situation. If you are talking to someone and you start feeling anxious, excuse yourself and go outside or to the restroom. Leave the situation.
4. Walk. Take a walk. Outside. Sometimes your brain is just feeling stressed or clustered and it need fresh air.
5. Calm Yourself. It's hard, but sometimes anxiety is just your brain playing tricks. Sit and simply say, "It's okay. You are okay." Again, breathe. This can also help prevent you from having an anxiety attack.
Anxiety can take over. It sucks. It really does. Sometimes I can stop it, but sometimes it wins.
I hope you understand where I am coming from and hope this has helped you in some kind of level. If you experience anything like this and have any advice for me, please let me know.
