DIY: Customize Your Table
11:33:00 PM
I was scrolling through Tumblr and I saw this really cool coffee table or side table that was covered in tribal and floral print mixed with like magazine cut-out which was a really cool combination.
At first I began to look for something similar online, then I thought I could do it myself.
And so I did!
For this DIY project you will need:
- Magazines
- Scissors
-Mod Podge
-Any furniture you want to customize
The furniture I used was a black round coffee table, that my sister gave me.
I never had a problem with the table being plain black but it wouldn't hurt to spice it up a bit.
First thing is to cut scraps of magazine that you want to glue on your furniture.
If you are dealing with a round surface it's easier if you cut squares for the edges.
NOW let's get messy!
You will have to put mod-Podge on the back of the scrap of magazine and place it where you want.
Mod-Podge dries clear so don't worry if it gets all over the table.. but try not to.
Once you do the edges you can do the middle and cover it with whatever you desire and after you are done put another layer of Mod-Podge on top of the surface to seal everything!
Leave it to dry for about thirty minutes or till is completely dry..
(I also decorated the bottom part, but that's optional)
After everything is nice and dry you are done!
Hope you enjoyed this DIY! The whole process took about two to three hours, since I didn't know what scraps I wanted on my table. It was super fun and I absolutely love the results :)
